With regards to the 25 to 40 percent target, this has been placed in the preamble of the text, not in the draft document.  Thus, it is not an obligation for the 38 countries, rather an aspirational one.

I can talk about El Nino and all sort of things with regards to this snowstorm.  Keeps the ski industry near Collingwood alive as it has been poor in recent years.  So not really a consolation.    

Negative press?  Because the agreement was reached despite, not because of, the federal Tories, and because because of Canada and US, the agreement was still not good enough.

I question whether Ontarians will respond to Baird’s tactics in Bali.  Reminds too much of his antics when your hero Mike Harris was Premier.

Maybe painful emissions cuts are necessary, if we are to achieve the Kyoto targets by 2012.  We should have dealt with it in 1994, instead of now.  Subject the sectors you mention to the medicine that Harris imposed on us Ontarians.

Okay. Run on that platform. And don’t forget to mention that China gets a free pass. Because you could fire every worker in the province of Ontario and destroy the livelihood of every family in that province, and it wouldn’t make a damn bit of difference as long as China continues to emit under the terms of the agreement reached by these heroes at Bali.

‘Painful emission cuts’? I suppose liposuction is painful too, but for massively overweight people whose lives are endangered by their own bulk it’s a freaking medical necessity.
And quit whining about China. China and India were repeatedly asking for aid in reaching climate reduction targets (as in new technology to replace old, inefficient types), but were continually denied by the pro-pollution lobby of Canada, USA, Russia and Japan. And still the effort of those two countries in bringing down their own emissions puts us to shame.

Forget new technology, perhaps Canadian taxpayers could pay for whole Chinese factories! Another Liberal campaign plank!

Suburban communities consume more than 3 times the electricity per person than urban communities. The combined suburban per person energy consumption is about 4 or 5 times that of urban per person energy consumption. This is a conservative figure, because much of the increased energy usage appears as transportation.

Residential, Commercial and transportation account for 2/3 of the energy consumption. By increasing energy efficiency of in these areas, there is more than enough energy for commercial applications.

You Con supporters bashing on China should use your rhetoric on something else instead.

Why don’t you let the Harper government fall and run the next election on the real threat facing Western civilization today?

Pray to God everyday that Harper, Baird, Flaherty, MacKay, and Tancredo will protect you.  If not, then let me ask you a question?  Why does Finley and Solberg allow 270,000  to 300,000 immigrants into Canada every year?  Many of them come from China with heavy promotion from the Provinces.
The noose is tightening on Harper.  He may become a victim of his own arrogance.
