Its funny how the left gets so antsy about Fox News. It is the only network where Conservatives get a fair break. The left controls CNN, ABC,NBC, CBS, MSNBC,PBS, not to mention most print media.
They cannot control FOX News and talk Radio, and that irritates them to no end. (google “fairness doctrine”, if Pelosi has her way freedom may end on talk radio). If the hard left had its way they would control the Internet, thank God that will never happen.

Many Democrates boycotted FOX News during their primaries. The boycott fell apart because, lone behold, many Democrates saw that FOX News was the most fair network towards Hillary.
You cannot ignore FOX, check the ratings, they are higher then MSNBC and CNN put together.

I’m a New Democrat and I’m galled by the run that ATV/CTV/Duffy took at Dion here. It wasn’t fair and suggests partisan shenanigans. A boycott is certainly an interesting way to get one’s voice heard.

Related news: Radio stations across the country are currently running last-minute Liberal ads that utter the lie that New Democrats plan to raise taxes on small business. (It’s a straightforward lie. In fact, they’d maintain the rate at 11%.) Should we boycott these stations too — and boycott the Libs at the ballot box for deceiving voters?

Sorry but cancelling $50 billion in corporate tax cuts will mean raising business taxes. Duh!

CBC wanted monopoly on live news and commentary. See how the left wing CBC wanted to censure CTV and keep them limited to a half hour circular news real. Unbelievable how they wanted total monopoly.

Duh? We may well disagree on tax policy. But will any Liberal supporter anywhere this week have the honour to acknowledge these facts?

1. Layton would freeze the small business rate at 11%. Currently, your party is running radio ads that LIE by stating he would raise that rate.

2. Regarding that $50-billion handout to large corporations: Cancelling corporate tax cuts that have not been phased in does not mean “raising” corporate taxes. This is separate from whether you think Harper’s plan was a good one.

To make any type of boycott of CTV(spit) effective, it must have a financial effect or the potential for financial effect. Unless you are a Neilsen ratings participant they don’t even know that your not watching and neither do the advertisers. If they think the advertisers are afraid of being boycotted then they may pay some attention. If I had the time and the computer skills I would make a site of all their advertisers for the publics perusal.

Scott,

I like your idea of Libs boycotting Duffy’s show. I think that it wouldn’t take long for viewers to get fed up with just hearing from Cons & the NDP only.
If a Green or two were elected they wouldn’t be able to be on the show every day either as they will be quite busy & not have the time. Viewership would go down & it would definitely be noticed by the network & the advertisers & changes would have to be made to draw viewers back.

I also like “16819. John E. Morse” idea of a website list of all advertisers on Duffy’s show. Don’t think it would be all that difficult to do. But it would mean watching the show to see who’s ads are there, & the do change, & not sure I could possibly bear watching it every day to add more advertisers to the list. I mean it could cause me to have a severe mental breakdown. ;)

A boycott of CTV will not work because if official Liberal spokespeople do not show up they will find others and call them representatives of the Liberal Party.

There really is nothing that the Liberals can do and the likes of Duffy know that. If he and others really felt that they would suffer consequences they would not do what they do.

So, ignore the product and go for the corporate bosses.

If the Liberals win this election it will be a minority government. For the duration of that minority the Liberal government should freeze out all of the lobbyists for the MSM. Refuse to talk to them. Refuse their input into any issues that will effect them and let them know why.

The nature of these discussions are such that they will never see the light of day but the MSM corporate bosses will get the message.

It’s about journalistic integrity. Anyone watch CTV’s Question Period today?

Taber - completely interrupted both Dion and Layton in her pathetic interview.

Craig Oliver interviewed Harper for about 15 minutes - all nice and cushy.

I do hope the NDP, Liberals and Greens will stand together on the pathetic coverage.

Duffy said that media don’t normally cover the NDP because they’re not really a contender (not the actual words but that’s what he meant).

I’m a Liberal - but I do believe all the leaders of all the parties deserve equal coverage. Afterall, people financially support their party and vote for their party and big media like CTV, Global, etc. do receive taxpayer funding and should be unbiased - or, those taxpayers that aren’t conservative should get their taxpayer monies back.

Instead of media controlling us, it’s time we took back control of the quality of reporting we get.

Wow. You sound like an “ultra-partisan control freak”.

CTV can do whatever the hell it likes, as long as viewers will pay the bills. CBC, on the other hand, is equally biased, but I have to pay their bills, whether I like it or not.

When both parties are complaining about media partisanship, you know the media are being as fair as possible. They just tend to report the way the electoral wind blows.

.

I cant believe I just read this?? Are the liberal supporters that arrogant that they think anyone who opposes their view during this election should be shut out of future processes??? How about we go one step further. How about they secretly find out every canadian that voted for another party and take away all there rights? Jesus..you guys really show how low you have stooped and how desperate you are to get back into power( and i do mean power..not office) no matter what the cost. You guys scare me and I hope that the Libs never become what some of you advocate!!

Just to add to my post above the CBC has traditionally been left leaning pro-liberal. Lets just say for the sake of speculation that the conservatives told the CBC that if they didnt start totally supporting them(cons) then they would pull the plug on them. You guys would be screaming so loud that they would hear you around the world about how the Conservatives are control freaks and want only their views brought forward. but that hasnt happened. You guys want it all your way!! But yet that is what some of you are saying should happen because its not going your way!!
